Photoshop Elements 8

I think this error is present in the real version of Photoshop too, but for price reasons I'm stuck with Elements for now. Here's the bug:

If you use the marquee tool (default hotkey M) to select a block of pixels, and then hold down ALT to remove part of the selection, the program behaves as expected (the selection volume is reduced). However, if you select some pixels, then nudge the content (by using the arrow keys, or the move tool (hotkey V)), this will change the subsequent behavior of ALT+selection tool, in that it will not only reduce the selection volume, but also erase any pixels that were deselected. Maybe this is by design, but if so then Adobe needs to have a stern talking to that designer.

iTunes

This isn't really a bug, it's just something that irks me. Why does iTunes insist on syncing all applications to your iTunes library from your iPhone? Everything you've bought is free to re-download anyway, why would I want to waste space on my harddrive with apps I only use on my phone? Google reveals nothing on the subject of why this is useful. Clearly I'm the only person stupid or smart enough to ask the question.

Windows 7 native FTP client

I use the built-in capabilities for FTP transfer in windows explorer quite a lot for simple transfers. I just tried to do so to copy a bunch of files from my web server to my desktop. I drag-dropped files to a local folder, but then immediately realized I'd selected the wrong files. I clicked "cancel", thinking that this would cancel the operation. Boy was I wrong! The transfer dialog changed stated to say "Cancelling..." for a good couple of minutes. Just fucking cut the TCP line, close the dialog and let me get on with my work.

Nordea online banking

So I use the online banking service of Nordea, which works just fine most of the time. A few things really suck though.

The first of these is the very annoying handling of login sessions. I frequently use the "simplified login" option, that only requires your account number and PIN, no additional security code needed. In this mode, you can pretty much only view accounts and transfer money between your own accounts. This is a nice little feature. The weird part starts when you've logged in, closed the tab for a while and then return to log in again. The session has timed out by then, so you get the login prompt. Fine, I log in again. What happens then? You get forwarded to a page that says "you have been logged out because of extended inactivity", and then you get transfered back to the login page, where you have to enter you credentials again. But I just bloody entered them! Either they should show you the "logged out" message straight away when you get there (on the same page as the actual prompt, of course), or just accept the fact that I just submitted completely valid credentials and just log me the fuck in.

Another thing that really sucks with Nordea online banking is that I pretty much don't have a real VISA any more. I have a gimped VISA. A VISA for kids. The reason for that is they've decided to connect their cards to some sort of security system that requires me to use my banking security dongle every time I want to make a purchase online. Yeah, that's really handy! Forget just being able to buy stuff using my VISA, now I have to carry that dongle around with me wherever I go. Thankfully, it mostly applies to some Swedish sites. I can still get stuff off of iTunes, Beatport etc without that hassle. I've been using my VISA online for 10+ years and never once got ripped off. User stupidity is the reason for credit card theft, not lacking security. Don't make me suffer for the mistakes of the moronic part of the userbase.

Good god. Who does the thinking over at Nordea?

Adobe Illustrator CS4

Not that I really know a lot about this program, but seriously. I made a textblock, put a sentence in, and then wanted to see what it would look like with different fonts. So I hilight the font-select box and start using the down/up-arrow to scroll through the list. However the piece of shit locks all the time at certain fonts and the even if I slam the up or the down-arrow the list get stuck at that particular font. Very annoying and I closed down the program very quickly. Piece of shit.

SourceTec Sothink SWF decompiler

I used secureSWF to obfuscate a swf-file, and then opened it in Sothink and extracted the source code. Fine. I then once again obfuscated it (this time with a stronger setting). Now I want to re-open it in Sothink, but the old file won't go away. There is no close alternative, so I select it and pressed delete (again, in Sothink, not in any kind of file explorer). Not only did it disappear from the list, but it ALSO DELETED THE PHYSICAL .SWF FILE FROM MY DISK. fffffffff-----
